White girl commented ON MY HAIR

So i was going to workout and swiped my card and the young college white girl said
"WOW YOUR REALLY NATURAL!!" i didnt comment, I didnt know wheather i should be offended or say thanks.


What would u have said?

I wouldnt have said anything. I do know when I am having my worse hair day thats when they comment the most! I love it cause some of them days I need a pick me up!!!

I have had white people comment on my hair (much more so than black people) and it has always been complimentary. I don't know the tone in which she made her statement but I'm thinking that she meant it as a compliment-but not said well.
If it had been me, I would have smiled and said-Yes and I love it!

Exactly what i should have said

Well, I'd rather a white person say "Wow you're really natural" opposed to my supervisor saying "your hair just doesn't look...consistent" when I was rocking finger coils. And then going on to explain they looked like they were all over the place and made reference to "that character on Lil Rascals. Did she mean BUCKWHEAT?!!?! I was too through. I know it was probably an HR issue, but everyone will have their opinions. I love my hair that's all that matters

Well, I don't think I'd have read more into it than the fact that it was simply a factual statement. So I'd probably have said something like, "Ummm, yeah... It is...."

I have a coworker that is caucasian. she told me yesterday that she absolutely loved my hair. My team leader,( who is hispanic) loves to touch my hair. lol But anywho, don't let comments like that get to you. Just smile and keep it moving. be encouraged

and by the way, milwaukeegirl, I love your hair. What is your regimen?
