What do you do with shea butter mixes?
Lately I've been trying to call myself a mixtress and a do it yourself girl. I've mixed my own hair sprtiz, which I love and made my own flower hair clips that came out super cute. So I jumped the gun and decided to buy some shea butter, vatika oil, and sweet almond oil. I made a little mix with those as well as water, olive oil, and tea tree oil and it came out all bad and oily untill I added more water. So heres the deal, I wanted to be a mixtress so much I didn't stop to ask myself what I was going to use the shea butter mix for. I'm a simple girl. I pretty much just use conditioner as a leave in and call it a day. Can someone tell me how to use this?
Oh, my flower hair clips:

shea butter can be used to seal in the moisture from your leave in

I use my Shea butter mix to two strand and flat twist my hair. I apply it to seal my hair and then I style it, allow it to dry overnight. I wake up with extra defined hair that lasts for 2-3 days.

Like Queen, I use it for everything. My hair doen't like it full strength but I mixed it as the fifth oil in my butter mix and it works like a dream. My mix is cocoa butter, aloe butter, coconut oil, Jojoba oil, shea butter, Smart Balance Blended oil, castor oil and vitamin e. I tried this mix without the shea and it does make a difference, go figure.
I'll have to look up my recipe for exact amounts.

lol @ "Frank's Hot Sauce"
I use a shea butter/coco oil/castor oil mix to seal my ends when i do my twist outs. Also used shea/olive oil (i'm one of those ones that throw stuff together and see what I come up with, I figure if it's all natural it's not gonna kill me lol)
I've also added some chunks of shea butter to my half empty jar of Nadinola lotion to use after I shower. I put the shea in and microwaved it for about 30 seconds, then stirred it with my finger. The concoction is thick and creamy (think cake frosting). To me it gives my lotion that extra "oomph" during the dry winter, and my skin should be lookin' smooth n' flyy come this summer.

Thanks ladies for all of the great ideas. I rally wanted some kind of whipped shea butter concoction but I used basically shea butter and oils so it came out a mess. I'm going to buy some aloe vera gel to add to it. Hopefully it coems out better.

@LoveZaporiah, you said: I made a little mix with those as well as water, olive oil, and tea tree oil and it came out all bad and oily untill I added more water.
Did you have to add an emulsifier to make it blend? I tried adding water to shea butter and it just kept seeping out.

Yes, you need something to bind the oil with the water together, or you will have a big, runny mess.

Re: What do you do with shea butter mixes?
When I tried to make products years ago, I used Polysorbate. Its been so long since I tried to mix oils and water (because its too much trouble for me), I would have to do more research.
