Driver's License in Texas? Empty Driver's License in Texas?

When you get your permit (lets say at age 15) how long do you have to
wait until you get your license? People say a year after your permit,
and some people say you have to wait 6 months after you turn 16. I'm so
confused! I live in Texas too...

I'm not sure if the laws have changed now, but I got my permit at the age of 15 (in Austin,TX) and the day I turned 16 I went to the DMV & got my license. Granted this was nearly 10yrs ago, but I don't think that law changed.. Hope this helps!
