Growth at different rates Empty Growth at different rates

Post by MomnWife 9th April 2010, 11:27 pm

I am still a newbie to the natural world, but with the hair growth that I already have I can tell it's not growing in some areas as well as others. It is basically working beautifully though the top and back of my head. It is still short ans showing minimal growth on both sides.

Is there some that I can be doing so that the sides will keep up with the rest? Do I need to be applying some type of hair treatment on the sides and not the rest? Does anyone else have this problem?

That may just be a characteristic of your hair. My middle has always grown slow but the nape grows ridiculously fast and my sides are on a pace of their own.

My hair has its own growing rate as well. I noticed this pattern even when i was relaxed but I notice it even more now because I notice the growth when Im twisting and washing. The back and top parts of my head grow very fast while the sides and front grow at a slower pace.

Ok, I guess I just need to learn to work with it.

I had the same issue. I am not sure how to expedite the growth process in the front. I have been taking biotin and it seems to be helping. I almost completely natural in the back. I can't wait for the front to catch up with it.

My crown grows a lot faster than the rest of my hair. Well, NOW it does. When my hair was relaxed, it grew as fast as the rest of my hair (which wasn't very fast). Now that I've gone back to my natural texture, it's been growing like a weed. Had to get my hair shaped so I won't look like Carrot Top when it grew out. I just notice the difference today. A week after I BC's I had color put in my hair. For the first time I was able to pull my hair back in a very very small ponytail and I notice that the color was only on my ends and on my sides. I have mainly been trying to take care of my rather than growth. But, after today I am curious about growth on my sides to catch them up with the rest of my hair. Thats why I'm here.

Same here. This is actually how I discovered that I actually have some wavy-straight hair; if I go without trims for 3-4 months, I'll have long, straight strands sticking out all over the place! Not much else to do with it except to keep it in shape with regular trims.

When I stretch my curly & kinky hairs out, they are all the same length as the straight strands. For me, I believe the different textures and where they are located plays a major role in what part of my head seems to 'grow' hair faster (as well as how long it takes to grow out before gravity takes over).
