So I thought I would find something super cute to do with my hair tonight. I just rocked another flat twist out..nothing special, nothing new. I'll come up with something this week.

Re: AfrikanLatina ☥ It's A...
Today is shampoo day. I have decided to shampoo once a month making sure to focus on my scalp and not my hair for the cleansing. I will deep condition and then follow up with ACV rinse. I shampoo with a Shikakai bar that I got from the Indian grocery store. I went in the other day and saw that they had a Neem bar. I've seen that word around here a few times but am not sure what it does. I'll have to look into it. Not sure if I'll do some more flat twists or mini braids. I guess it all depends on how I feel.

No not yet...im a chicken!!
Im planning on trying cassia first after a few more months of being natural, so i can tell if it feels or make a difference. Then after cassia I plan trying Henna. Then maybe Ill move upward to Brahmi, Alma, Shikikai. There's so many auyerdic (maybe mispelled) powders out there, I have to try them 1 at a time 2 see if my hair likes it.

Product Review:
Elasta QP H-TWO Leave-in Moisture Sealing Conditioner

Elasta Qp H Two Sealing Conditioner
Softens
Detangles
Moisturizes
QP
H-Two adds lightweight moisture to give incredible luster and body to
hair. Silk protein strengthens hair fibers while botanical extracts
protect hair from thermal styling tools. Sunscreen protects against UV
rays that fade color.
Directions: Shampoo with your favorite QP
Shampoo. Spray liberal amount of QP H-Two into hair. Comb blend for
even coverage. Do not rinse from hair. Continue styling as usual.
Last night I washed my hair with my Shikakai bar soap. I parted my hair into two sections, cleansed, and detangled each section making sure to massage my scalp with the pads of fingers. After rinsing I did an ACV rinse and let that sit for the duration of Musiq's song Don't Change. I then rinsed with lukewarm water. For my deep conditioner I mixed:
I parted my hair down the middle so I had two sections. I gently pulled the left side back into a ponytail so I could do the right side. I sprayed the H-Two Sealing Conditioner onto my damp hair and combed it through. I followed that up with coconut oil making sure to not just put it on the hair on top but all over. Lastly I applied castor oil to the length of my hair but being sure to focus on the ends. I combed that through as well. I finished up by putting my hair into flat twists.
End Result:

I don't have to clip the hair but I think its just habit and it helps me not pull hair from one twists while I'm doing another.

I'm shedding less and less hair these days! I'll take a comparison pic of my edges and post later.
I was going to do a pros and cons of the Elasta QP H-Two Leave In Conditioner but I really don't have any cons. The pros are:
It smells great.
It makes the hair noticeably softer(after using it on dry hair the other day)
My twists feel juicy like I like em
I'll be able to tell if there are any cons when I take the twists down some time later this week
But for now it gets an A+ from me.

I think thats a great idea if your a little apprehensive about taking the plunge. Baby steps are a good idea. I haven't tried cassia yet so I'd love to hear how it works for you. Any idea when you'll give it a go?

Re: AfrikanLatina ☥ It's A...

September 26, 2009--Here my hair basically starts near my ear.

November 16, 2009--Here my hair has started to thicken back up a little. Not sure if YOU can tell but I can lol and I'm super happy about this.
Over the course of about 7 1/2 weeks I am able to see a difference in my edges.
I believe I've done 2 henna treatments within that time so one could assume that the henna is helping in addition to trying not to manipulate my hair so much. If its not broke, don't fix it right? Well I think I'll be doing another henna treatment either tomorrow or Friday!

I'm going to be mixing my henna in a little while to apply either tonight or tomorrow morning. I'm going to head over to the henna thread to see what others are mixing their henna with...maybe I'll switch mine up a bit since this is a brand of henna I haven't used before.

I'm so happy. I realized that it was going to take some patience to see results and now I'm seeing them.

I have been applying castor oil so I can assume that it is also helping even though I havent been using it as much as I should have. I have a hard time being consistent with it for some reason. But seeing my edges coming back even this much is motivation to get consistent so I can see more results.

This has become my 2nd favorite hairstyle by far. My first one is when I twist the sides/edges of my hair back on both sides and rock a faux hawk. So now I have 2 signature styles. I cant rock the faux hawk until my hair comes back and even then I wont rock it often because I don't want to put too much stress on my edges. Thanks for noticing the difference in my edges.

Thank goodness for GOODWILL. I took a chance and went to Goodwill today looking for an electric handmixer. Well I found it daggonit! $5 is all I had to kick out for it too. I've been saying I was going to get one so I could start whipping some stuff up particular a shea butter mix. I'll probably get around to mixing it up tomorrow so I'll be sure to post the results and the recipe.

So I thought I would henna today but its such a lovely day outside and I'd much rather take Taj out to get some Vitamin D(sun) and go hang out with my sistagirl. Decisions, decisions! The henna will be here when I get back...
