fingernails after henna'ing Empty fingernails after henna'ing

So I just henna/amla'd for the first time. After styling my fingernails were orange. Is there anyway to prevent this? Thanks.

where gloves when rinsing and prepping. I had to buy some octagon soap just to get the orange out of my skin and nails. but in two or three days it goes away.

Ditto on wearing gloves. I keep my nails painted so the henna didn't stain them too bad.
