Goody Simple Styles kit (especially the Spin Pin)

Post by Janet36603 on 6th May 2010, 4:07 pm

I saw a commercial on TV yesterday about the new Goody Spin Pin, which helps you with buns easily and "does the work of 20 bobby pins" and wondered if anyone had tried it. When I hopped online, I saw that there was a pack of hair accessories you could get for $14 (plus shipping) for cute simple styles

Here's the site: https://goodysimplestyles.com/

but you can also purchase them separately at CVS or Target it says. There's also a video of an Asian woman using the spin pins to make a bun here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVaQ0KWob0c

It looks simple enough but is it really worth the $6 for the spin pins (or any of the other products) for our texture of hair?

That thing looks lethal. I would be interested in seeing a curly use this successfully because all I can picture so far is it getting stuck in my hair. LoL

lol yeah that's why I asked. The idea looks good...you just twist it and it goes in (one from the top and the other from the bottom) and twist the opposite way to take them out.

Plus I was wondering if they would even hold the bun. The commercial makes it look awesome but you can tell all the women are laying down so...gravity doesn't really come into play

The little volume clip thing would be good to make a front hump super easy...since I'm "styling challenged" lol

I saw that in Walmart, I was so confused and all I could picture was my hubby using the wire cutters to get that thing out of my hair.

I agree. I saw the spin pins in store. They looked scary. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I picked up the Spin Pins at Target today...I'm impressed! My hair isn't long enough for a "real" bun yet, but I tried my best to twist my hair into one *lol* and the pin held my "bun" in place! The pins are smooth and don't snag the hair at all, and they're easy to put in and remove...they get a thumbs up from me [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I just got the spin pins today at walgreens, I have to say I'm really loving them! First of all, they come in and out super smoothly, no snagging or pulling on your hair (which is more than you can say for bobby pins, especially when those little caps come off). Also, I made an updo very easily, and only needed bobby pins for the stragglers that didnt fit into the pin.

What I'm really excited about, however, was that I did my updo while I had twists in my hair! I was afraid that it wouldn't work with twists, but it did! I'd definitely recommend them.

What I'm REALLY curious about is the modern updo pin-- has any natural tried that one?

Hi ladies! I bought the spin pins and the barrett that curly nikki posted pix on awhile ago. I have to say that the pins do not get tangled in your hair, they are very easy to remove. You just turn them counter clock wise. They feel more comfortable than bobby pins. I put my hair up in a bun for work and I worked a double shift and those pins never fell out. They are very comfy. Now that barrett is a different story it wont stay closed on my ponytail but it did for curly nikki and I think her hair is thicker than mine. The spin pins are nice ,I really like them. They look like two coily bobby pins the surface is smooth without any rough ness. For some reason I always thought they were connected but they arent.
