Fit Tips of the Week

Post by KinkySheaPT on 5th May 2010, 9:03 pm

Hey everyone!

Every week on CN.com I have the privilege of writing about various fitness tips and topics. Although, I could ramble on and on about various topics (and according to my hubs I tend to do so quite often lol) I would really like to know what fitness topics CN readers are curious about. I want to make my articles as beneficial to the CN community as possible, so if you have a topic that you would like discussed (it can be anything from fitness apparel or products to workout routines or anything fitness related), you can post it here. I hope my articles are helpful to the readers and this is kind of my way to ensure that it stays that way. So let's hear it! What's on your mind?

I love your articles. They are very informative...

So here's my question: I really want to tone up my body but I DON'T want to appear too bulky or masculine. Whats the best way to do so as far as workout routines?

I also look forward to your tips on CN. Thanks!

Here are my questions.

What are the best ways to combat hitting a plateau?

What are the top five vegetables and fruits to eat for overall health and wellness?

Are there fruits and vegetables we should avoid consuming on a regular basis? Why?

How often should I change my strength training and cardio regimen?

This is great!
What are the best exercises or types of exercises to do to burn more fat or burn it faster?

What foods are good to eat to boost energy levels? (I need a lot of whatever it is!)

I would love to talk about what are some good things a busy woman should eat throughout her day to stay healthy and fit! I have a problem with what to eat for lunch, sometimes I eat really light (like a salad) and sometimes I dont eat lunch at all (i know thats terrible). Im in the process of trying to lose 10-12 lbs and I really need an eating regimen...I have the working out down, I just need to eat better...any suggestions?

What are your thoughts on the cleansing systems that are sold in some of the health stores, like the Jillian Michael program?

Walk everywhere. Instead of running to do errands, go to the store. If you must drive, park further and walk to the store. Park at the rear of the parking lot, or if you are parking on the street, the local park.

If you have the habit of eating unhealthy food, prepare healthy items in advance so you can easily access them at the end of a busy day.Any extra movement helps burn calories, though. Lifestyle activities may be easier to fit into your day.

Increase your resting heart rate, which is an important sign, easy to measure. If you think you may be over-training, resting heart rate when you wake up every morning, you (after you've recovered from the shock of your alarm!). To do so for several weeks.

Great question! I think a lot of ladies out there are probably wondering the same thing. I'll have the answer in tomorrow's edition of KinkyShea's Health and Fitness tips on CN.com. :-)

^^^^^ This all day long, lol.

I also think articles that provide some foundation for working out would be good also. I always get confused on whether you should eat before or or after and what to eat to otimize performance.

To lose weight. This is a scientific fact, if you take less calories than you put out, you have to lose weight. It will not come to the bar. it does not have any fast. One pound off. Do not fall into the trap of setting goals is unrealistic and doomed to failure.
