Post by BrownSkinDiva on 4th May 2010, 8:00 am

Welcome Everyone to my hair journal Smile

Im super excited about this Curl Street Journal that I DONT know how to act...

I just got back from my wedding and honeymoon, and it was LOVERLY!! LOL

I had some issues though..The natural hair salon that was supposed to do my hair at the VERY last minute switched up pricing and availability so I had to go with a different salon...here is the style that I wanted and then what I got

and heres what i got

and this

I enjoyed the wedding, and even with the hair issues, the new stylist did an awesome job Smile

I will post more soon!!

Heres a few more wedding pics

thanks so much KNH!!

Girl the major problem was the fact that the salon kept quoting me a price of $25 over the phone, but when I got down there for my consultation 2 days before the wedding they changed it to $250 and wanted me to get a full head sew in!! i was like WHATTTT???

so i found another stylist who was alot more affordable and only used a few pieces of hair to add more volume to the back....

it was rough having a wedding in miami, while i was planning living in VA...so the stylist problem got to me a little bit, but we found another stylist quick!!

I go from excited to "OMG, I don't want to cut my hair!" LOL, but I think I'm going to just do it. I keep offering to let people cut the back for me, but I don't think I have any takers so far. LOL, I'm not trying to go to the salon unless it needs to be shaped. But hopefully I'll get this job I'm interviewing for so I can get some cute accessories and stuff. I'm trying to be like you when I grow up Razz say Hi to the Hubby (even though he has no idea who I am. . . he will ~lol~) How long was yours when you cut it again?

yeah i was crying in the chair when i got my hair cut so i COMPLETELY understand how you feel...but the next day after i played with it, i loved my hair all over again!! my pic in my siggy was taken the same day as my BC...i had alot more hair under those relaxed ends than i thought!! i went to a natural hair salon to get mine cut and it was only $25 i think...but im sure you can cut it yourself...i had someone else do it cuz i prob wouldve never got the guts to do it myself lol...

I'd rather cut it myself, that way I know too much isn't getting cut off in the name of making it "even" I just want the permed ends gone, I think my natural parts are pretty even. I can see the front and the top, I just need someone to do the back). If it's REAL bad I'll go get a $10 shape up or something, but I'm not going to let anyone else wash my hair for a while, probably the first 6 months or so. My brother told me I can't wear a fro at his wedding next year, and he wants me to have straight hair (SMH) since I'm in it I guess I can be nice and comply as I'm sure my future SIL would have a fit otherwise-- I can totally see her becoming a Bridezilla. LOL)

RE: crying, I wanted to cry when I got my ends trimmed sometimes while I had a perm, so people can't believe I'm really going to cut it off Laughing

I love being natural i just think I need to learn how to master certain methods because i still havent mastered a wash n go for my hair, or how to make a good bun last, or how to get a perfect puff!!

im working on it though....

Re: Life of a Curly GIRL :)

Post by BrownSkinDiva on 10th May 2010, 8:46 am

So I just got serious about the Twist Pin Up challenge and Im going in on it, because my hand in hair syndrome has come back with a vengence!!

Here is how Im wearing my hair throughout the week...I have all of the back in twists pinned up but 3 or 4 of the front twists are taken out for a twist out bang effect..

Im very excited because we dont have a whole foods here, HOWEVER, I just found out that the vitamin shoppe here sells all the oils and some of the hair product lines i want to try. They sell jane carter solutions and aubrey organix as well, but im gonna wait til I run out of the other products Ive bought and love before I try something new....I love how my hair is growing...This past weekend I visited the lady who did my BC and she loved this style on me....So that made me feel good, she kept saying that my hair looked good, and that made me smile..

Im really trying to let my hair grow, and Im getting on some new energy vitapak vitamins from GNC so we will see how that goes. Im trying to lose 10-12 lbs so that I can be truly where I want to be with weight and body issues.

On a more personal note: I just got married and Im realizing that now that the wedding planning is over, its really time for me to buckle down and focus on some goals that ive been wanting to follow through on, but got side tracked when i began wedding planning. Im really considering a PhD and a few other things that have been on my heart....

Thanks for tuning in curlies!!!

Love always,
BrownSkinDiva Very Happy
