Curly Police

Post by AfrikanLatina on 9th November 2009, 4:05 pm

If the Curly police were strolling through your neighborhood/campus what would you be cited/arrested for?

Here's my scenario:

(driving down my street and I see the Curly Police lights flashing behind me, I pull over, and the CP approaches, I roll down my window)

CP: Ma'am do you know why I pulled you over?
AL: No ma'am
CP: I patrol this neighborhood often and this is the third week in a row that I've seen you wearing that Tam!!
AL: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] My fro is going through a lot right now and its just easier this way officer.
CP: No excuses ma'am. Have you ever heard of Curlynikki.com?
AL: Yes ma'am...I'm on her site everyday
CP: (Shakes head) Ma'am I need your curly license and registration
AL:(hands it over without arguing)
CP: Okay I see you've only been 100% curly since February of this year so I'm going to let you off with a warning on this one but if I come through here again next week and see you with that same tam on I won't be so nice.
AL: Thank you ma'am...I understand.
CP: Have a nice day ma'am.

LMAO...can ya'll tell I'm bored? So yeah, I've been wearing tams for the past few weeks 1)because I've been lazy and 2) you already know my shedding issue.

What would the curly police arrest you for?

Offenses can include but are not limited to:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Blinding oncoming traffic with the oil glare from your forehead
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Combing your hair while its dry
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Brushing your hair while its wet
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Not keeping up with henna treatments(CurlyNikki would be thrown under the curly jail lol)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Not deep conditioning,etc.etc.

Not yet which is why I usually wear my scarf underneath it. I make sure its not tight so my tam doesn't lay flat on my head but my hair is protected from rubbing against the cotton. Smile

lmao @ Blinding oncoming traffic with the oil glare from your forehead.

i might have gotten that citation a time or two after some attempts to prevent frizzing a braid or twist out

Walking out of the house with a pony puff without laying my edges down.

Sometimes other things just get in the way, and you throw on a headband at 7AM, and your puff looks okay but your edges look like cotton.

This is a crime I commit at least once a week.

@terraD, you and me both. I'd get cited for not deep conditioning, trying too many new products at once, and not henna'ing enough!

LOL! I would have gotten cited for combing while dry, last week it was too cold to wash before work, plus my hooded drier and all my brushes were in a different city (at my FI house and my mom's house) so I had no choice.

Last night I would have gotten cited for laziness because I was supposed to co-wash and either flat twist or two strand twist, but once I got done mixing and trying some of the mixtures on my straight hair... I fell asleep while texting. SMH I can't be lazy tonight!

lol good ones ladies.

@tia...why are you snatching out knots lady?

@courtie...I'm also guilty of not laying my edges down from time to time. depending on the hairstyle I can get over on the curly police.

@terra...guilty again but in my defense I do leave the conditioner in my hair when I nopoo long enough for me to wash my body when I'm in the shower.

dammit @dricka...we'll be sitting side by side on that rinky dink bench in jail waiting to get our one phone call so Curly Nikki can come bail us out. lol

LMAO! She would come in ready to pay our bails, armed with conditioner (both rinse out and leave in), a wide tooth comb, shea butter and an oil!

I'm really bad about pulling out knots too and sleeping without a satin scarf, bonnet, or pillow. If I got cited for sometthing in public it would probably be for not tucking the ends of the stocking I use for my puff. I always mess it up at this step and just started leaving it.

LOL!!! my greatest offense......not sticking to the hair plan! Bertha (the 300 lb woman who lives atop my head comfortably, most of the time, attached to my scalp) would call them in on me in a heartbeat. I know she likes to be detangled, when worn out, at least ery 3-4 days. Yeah......i'm lazy!!! that pin up style becomes a twist/braid out becomes anothr pint up s/t until she just quits. REVOLUTION! lol, im close to 3 strikes....can i get in on that one fone call?!
