Hey Keeta! Those mini-twists are time consuming, but they last for baby girl. Question:have ever encountered any problems with your hair after applying heat??

Yup, and that is what usually motivates me to finish them (the fact that they last so long). As far as heat, I haven't had any issues b/c when I blow dried my hair for the twists I used low heat and didn't use the hottest temperature. My goal was just to just stretch it a little but not get it straight. I'm always scared to use full-on heat when I do use it which is rare. And always use a heat protectant prior to using direct heat, too. That helps.
Re: KeetaRay
I tried Henna on Sat night/Sunday morning. My scalp is a little itchy but my HAIR... OMG it feels so good! Soft, moisturized, and for some reason my hair is REALLY DARK. I've tried henna before and had a red tint, but this time it's like almost black, and the tips where I still have my color (it's almost grown out) is a dark brown. That's interesting... but I like it b/c I wanted my hair darker anyway.
IDK why my scalp is so itchy but I've heard sometimes it takes people awhile to get used to henna. We'll see...

omg ur hair is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!
i haven't done henna yet, but i did my first ayurvedic dc with neem, amla, tulsi powders mixed with my conditioners, honey and and egg and i noticed my scalp itched sooner than usual (like within two weeks and it usually starts itching at week 4 or 5).

Re: KeetaRay
Thanks, dajewel. Yeah I'm thinking maybe my scalp needs to get used to it... My hair feels good, though, so I'd try it again.

Hi Keeta! I don't think I've been by here either but I have seen your cute avi around. I'm going to henna some time this weekend. I haven't done it in a while... I do it maybe 2- 3 times a year when everyone else does it more often. I appreciate the red properties (it turns my grays red) and the last time I used hibiscus flowers to add more red to it. Anyway, cute twist out and glad to hear you had great results with henna thus far!
Re: KeetaRay
Thanks so much, ladies!
@poeticlyspkng I love how so many different things can be added to henna to get a different outcome. I was "studying" hennaforhair.com yesterday

Thanks, Kisha!
OK ladies, I went and got my hair done. But NOT at the salon in Laurel, MD, that I initially was going to go to. I didn't want to pay an arm & a leg, for one. Secondly, in another forum thread I was informed that the wait was long at that shop, etc. So, a friend of mine recently had hers braided up and I asked where she went. The woman down the street from her did her hair (and hers looked very nice) and only would charge me $60. So that is where I went (she's in Olney, MD) - if you'd like her info send me a PM and I will let you know.
Here are some pics of my hair. Cornrows on the side and going up the back, and the right side is out. Initially, she put mini-twists on the hair that was out. When I got home I put the mini twists in bantu knots for a few hours and took them out to get the crinkly effect. Later that night, I took the twists out completely so now it's a twist out.
Hopefully, I can keep this for about 2 weeks with just redoing the twists/twist-out on the right side.
