Where do you find the time?
I notice a lot of you seem to spend a lot of time on your hair. Washing every 3-4 days, twisting and retwisting, roller setting pincurling, yarn wrapping, flat twisting, etc...
IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
If I'm lucky, I may be able to wash and twist my hair once a week, and that takes 3 hours at the least ( I have a lot of hair). My schedule is uuber hectic with work, school, kids, housework and such. Where do you ladies find the time to put so much time into maintaining your hair?
Sometimes I wish I had more time, and it would probably look a lot better. Is there a secret to saving time in maintaining hair on such a frequent basis?

It may seem that way, but a lot of times I'll set it and forget it.... LOL
Meaning I'll style for the week, and refresh during the week. When I twist, I do so on Sunday and leave the twists in until, say Friday. Wear a twistout a couple of days and restart.
I'll wear a WnG about 3-4 days before re-doing it as well.

I'm in the same boat and I only cowash, seal and twist once a week too. I really want to experiement but can't seem to find time. Maybe if I stayed off the board so much, lol.
Re: Where do you find the time?
Great question. To save time, you may do the following.
-Pre-poo or DC overnight
-Do time consuming styles when you have more time
-When doing braids or twists, do the front first then the back (if you don't finish back, you can pin it or bun it, etc.)
-Wake up early
-Do hair when everyone is sleep

Re: Where do you find the time?
I wash once a week as well.
1. I wash Tuesday nights and do chunky twists just to sleep in.
2. I do the smaller twists on Wednesdays. The smaller twists currently take about 3-4 hours for me to do. I'm hoping that I'll get faster as I practice twisting.
3. I wear the twists until Sunday, twistout on Monday and Tuesday and then I start all over again by washing Tuesday night.

Well I usually have a 'long-term' hairstyle in: braids when I was transitioning and comb coils now that my hair's so short. But for experimenting you ahve to make the choice to sacrifice some work and I definitely made the sacrifice between bantu knots and physics homework. Not that much of a sacrifice mind you but I think you get my point....

Re: Where do you find the time?
@ OP: Don't feel bad. My hair days are on Sundays or Thursdays. I'm able to stretch a style out for more than a week here lately, so I'm not spending time daily on my hair. I shole ain't got that kind of time!
If I twist on Sunday, I may not retwist until Thursday and wash on Sunday. That's just if I'm motivated, though. Otherwise, I'll go about 1-1.5 weeks before I start the routine over again.
