Questions about Henna Empty Questions about Henna

Post by Tiffy2 3rd February 2010, 10:25 pm

I just mixed up my henna and it's ready for tomorrow. I used coconut milk with the hibiscus flowers because a few people on here were saying that lemon juice makes your hair dry. I'm trying to dye my hair a red color but I didn't have enough coconut milk so I did half coconut milk with hibiscus flowers for my red dye and green tea. I also mixed in honey,EVOO and lavender EO. now the henna mix is a chocolate color. I hope that's not how my hair will look. anyway,I wanted to asked if I can henna tomorrow and then again next week on the 11th (my two month mark)? also, after I henna tomorrow can I put the rest of my mix in the frig until I'm ready to use it next week? someone please help me.....

Hi Tiffy,

As far I know, you can henna as often as you like. I think CurlyNikki said when she first started hennaing she did it quite often, like twice a month or something. The effects you get with henna will make you want to do it all the time lol Some people do it more than once a month, others do it maybe once every month or every other month, etc

As far as putting it in the frig til your second henna day, I'm not sure. I know it can be frozen if you're not going to use it for a while but since it's only a week, the frig might be ok. Don't take my word for it though cuz I havent done that before. Maybe someone else would be able to answer that for you.

Happy hennaing [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I've henna's a handful of times & my mixes are always a horrible brown color but my hair comes out red. I'm pretty sure that it'll be red unless you add something to purposely make a brown or black mix. You should freeze your excess henna. I've been using & freezing a batch that I whipped up about 2 months ago. Just put a piece of saran wrap & a rubber band over the top to keep it sealed. You should be fine!

@akaprincess00,I took my henna out the frig and put it in the freezer like everyone said. I didn't wanna mess up my batch. I can henna at least three more times from the batch I have now.
