Thank you Madeaj! You're right I can change my mind and it shouldn't be the end of the world. And really if someone held those words, which weren't mine, to memory for almost 3 years THEY have some serious issues. You're right I need to call it exactly what it is and stop enabling folks in their foolishness.
Yes versatility is a great thing! Especially now that I THINK I've learned how to do this twist thing

Hey SisB. Keep your head up. There are some crazy people out there. If you don't like the comments you can alway block her access to your pics and even your page. I'm the queen of that, even with people I know and consider close and if they ask I just give a real brief reason why followed by my favorite quote "my page, my rules".
I'm not saying u have to do it just saying its an option. As always I love your hair.
Smooches.

Re: SisterBoyd
The curls are back!!!!!!!
Ya'll know I tried to be a G about this straight stuff, but deep down I was so worried about my curls. I can see my trim/cut now that my hair is curly again. It looks really short to me. Or it could be those dead ends aren't weighing my hair down and my curls are really popping. I've washed it twice since my birthday and detangling has been quite easy so I don't know if that was the trim or if my hair just wasn't as tangled.
I got my Qhemet order this week and I have it in my hair now. I got the AOHC and the new conditioning ghee. I don't like the smell of the ghee. It stayed with me even after I sealed with my oil blend so that means the ghee has a strong smell.
Yesterday I cowashed with VO5, conditioned with a mix of protein and moisturizing conditioners, used my leave-in (glycerin and aloe), aplied the AOHC, Ghee, Feels Like Silk and sealed with my oil blend. Something didn't penetrate and my hands have an oily residue when I touch my hair. However, my hair does feel moisturized and soft and my hair is shiny. After taking my bonnet off this morning my hair looked even better than it did last night.
I was thinking about twisting, but I've been quite tired from staying up late so that might not get done this week.
Ok LA Curlies...I'm thinking about doing another meet up in February. What do ya think?

Isnt it funny how you miss your curls when it's straight! You my dear are the Queen of shrinkage! All of the hair hiding in those lovely curls!

Anyway, people are just never satisfied. Do you. Your hair looks great both ways.

Sweet...I know! I felt like I was cheating on my curls hahahaha!!!! And that shrinkage...man! I know folks think I really don't have any hair. Heck some days I feel like I don't 8=}
JNB...thank you!
I promise you these first few weeks of 40 my skin looks and feels great! I did the OCM when I got home and I was like, "Dang girl!"
...then I crashed on the couch hahahaha
In hair news my hair still feels great! I fluffed and fluffed some more. I was really trying to go for big with no accessories...and I punked out and went with the headband I'm having dinner tomorrow with some classmates and I'm going to try to do big with no accessories. Cross your fingers!

Hey Sister Boyd! I must say your hair is truly deceiving! It is gorgeous. I think it is good to switch things up but I love your hair curly. Sorry you've gotten flack over your decision about your hair. Everyone has an opinion and most times they should keep it to themselves unless asked for it. I'll let ya girl know for you if you want. LOL!
Anyway, looks like you had a fabulous birthday! I turned 40 this year too and I'm still celebrating my liberation. Hope you are too. Happy New Year!

Re: SisterBoyd
Hi lovelies!
Today is clarification day. I gave myself a bentonite clay treatment (coconut water, honey, ACV, and coconut oil). Then, I cowashed with VO5 and followed with a DC (Giovanni's Magnetic Reconstructor, AO HSR, honey, and Shea Moisture Masque). When I rinse the DC out I'll follow with a light cowash (VO5 and TJs Citrus Conditioner) so I can finish detangling. I emptied the AO and Shea Moisture containers so I'll use those to rinse my hair...I'm anal about getting all of the product out of containers
As promised, here is a picture of my big hair that I was finally able to accomplish
I rocked this look for most of last week (Tuesday - Saturday). I really liked it!

Re: SisterBoyd
Thank you ladies!
So my clarified hair came out better than I expected so far. I didn't have to do an additional cowash to detangle; I was able to detangle with the DC. My hair was super moisturized and shiny - coconut oil is a wonderful thing
I moisturized with QB's new ghee and heavy cream, styled with Feels Like Silk, and sealed with my oil blend.
I really think my trim helped with the tangling problem. I'm still dealing with knots, but not on the same level. Fairy knots are still here. However, my ends feel really good.
Ok I'll try to post some pictures from some of my celebration last week. I partied from Tuesday to Friday...and slept all day Saturday and moved slow today while doing my hair and making this gumbo.

Re: SisterBoyd
Hey Ryl! How was your New Year celebration?
I did the same thing I did today. Then, the next day I moisturized and sealed with the QB and blended oil and fluffed and fluffed some more. I did my edges and pinned the front up thinking I was going to wear the clip. Then, something said take the clip and I did. Fluffed a bit more and wooolaaa! I have big hair I repeated it twice after this and it was even bigger. The top doesn't stand up, but I'll be content with this.
