I'm pretty sure that you can. Make sure that you use 100% henna. Get the kind that is used for your body to be sure. I did my first henna last thursday and didn't lose any of my curl. My hair type is most 4A. My hair is super soft and I love the results. I just ordered some Jamila and can't wait until it arrives. Hope that helps.

Oh yeah. I almost forgot. I used some of my shed hair and did strand test before I applied it to my whole head. Just in case.

I agree you should do a strand test because your already colored.
Henna will "relax" the curl but nowhere near what a chemical permanent relaxer would. Most people wouldn't say that henna has made there hair less curly, more often I hear the terms-curl lengthen, more manageability, curl definition. Some people don't experience any of those effects.
For me henna has given me more definition and a slight curl lengthening.

Henna didn't change my 4b texture at all! I had my hair previously colored and the henna brightened the already existing color. I then followed up with indigo to make it jet black. As the others have stated, use the strand test first.
