Thanks!!! I'm glad I can finally do a decent wash n go. I tried right after my BC and . My hair was so dry that no amount of product would give me good results. I tried again about a month ago with gel and . It took FOREVER for my hair to dry and it was so hard and crunchy. I think I finally got it right this time.

Re: **traveljunkie08**
So, last night, I tried the Brahmi powder I purchased at the Global Foods Market. I mixed it with water. I didn't want to mix it with anything else because I wanted to see if it'd have an effect on its own. I left it in for 15-20 minutes. After I rinsed, I co-washed with Giovanni SAS and detangled with HE TT. This is how it looked:
It didn't look or feel any different than it normally does. I applied a little Darcy's Botanicals Pumpkin Conditioner as a leave-in. I spent the next two hours doing coils. I used Eco Styler Olive Oil Gel mixed with Qhemet's Burdock Root Butter Cream to coil.
My hair is much looser at the top, so it barely coiled. This morning, I smoothed KBB Hair Butter over them, then put on a beanie to head out and do some last minute Christmas shopping.
As I mentioned before, I probably won't use the brahmi again or do coils again. I'm realizing that when it comes to my hair, the simpler my routine the better. I don't want to mix things. I don't want to spend two hours doing my hair. I don't want to have anything "sit" on my hair for more than 15 minutes. I don't want to get in and out of the shower. So, I'm going to try to keep it simple.

I love your hair. The coils turned out really good! I like it. My hair in the top is looser too.
I feel you on the simple routine. Usually when I deep condition, I rinse my hair out in the sink because I dont want to get back in the shower. I rather pre poo because I can do that overnight while I'm sleep. I know I wont be able to do that when my hair gets longer. I want to try henna but it looks too messy and I dont have 4 hours to sit around with that stuff on my hair. I cant wait to see the coil out.

Thanks! I'm going to keep them for as long as I can before doing a coil out.
Yeah, I want to henna too, but I probably won't. I'm pretty much a DIYer and have been all my life when it comes to my hair (with few exceptions), but if I could, I'd go to a salon to have henna or some of these other treatments done.

I'm with ya'll. There's only so much I'm willing to do at home. That henna seems like tooooo much trouble. But I do plan on coloring my hair.

Well, I didn't do anything with my hair today. Just wore a beanie again and went to hang out with the fam. I ate a lot and laughed a lot. Hope you all had as good of a Christmas as I did.

Re: **traveljunkie08**
I must say you have defintely mastered your hair, DIYer. It looks FABULOUS!!!!
And you can do henna, believe me, it is not hard and you know my history...lol. You mix and apply with gloves in shower (not worrying about the mess), saran wrap, plastic cap, rinse off body and wait. Sleep overnight in it, watch a movie, cook, etc. Sometimes I even go under the dryer the last 1/2 hour. Then get gloves and rinse out well. DC well and rinse. Then syle as normal. Not hard, YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! I use to do it every 2 weeks.

@Intelligentbeauty: Thanks! I dunno. Maybe I'll try it in the spring or something. Right now, I kinda want to take a break from doing my hair and when I do it, I want it to be simple. I've done nothing with it since I did the coils on Wednesday, and I'm trying to get a couple more days from them before I wash my hair.

Congrats and lookin' good soror! Love the coils - they really look good on you! The wash n go (my staple) is cute too. I'm trying to give it up while it is cold. Henna is a must have for me now - it covers my gray LOL! If you feel like experimenting let me know - I'm off till 1/6 and I will help you! Its not hard!!

Thanks Truet & Sweet!!!
@Cory: Thanks! I think I'll experiment in the spring. I went to the Global Foods Market in Kirkwood, and I saw Karishma (sp?) henna for $1.99 a bag. Maybe you'll be off for spring break by then and can help me.

Re: **traveljunkie08**
Well, today is day four of wearing coils. They're a little fuzzy, but have held up pretty well.
I'm going to see if I can get another two days out of them before re-styling. I've enjoyed having a break from doing my hair!
Today I started working out again. I'm doing ChaLEAN Extreme. I did the workout before but I didn't think I was getting results...until I stopped doing it. I'm going to do ChaLEAN Extreme AND TurboJam (my all time favorite workout) AND Cardio Boxing on the Wii.

Re: **traveljunkie08**
ok - we'll get together spring break. Karishma was the one I used. I got 4 applications out of that one bag.
Also - Target has the giovanni gift sets (sham/condish) on sale for 5.88 for both full size bottles. I got the Tea tree to try and I may go back for the smooth as silk.

Wow, I have missed a lot. I am sorry you didn't notice any difference with brahmi. I can honestly say I notice a difference in the amount of shedding. No difference with a mixture of brahmi and other powders.
Your coils look great!
