Re: Spring is in the Air!
I just cut my perm ends off beginning of the month i have tried the kinky curly knot today and loved it so i will rotate between that and my giovanni direct leave in my sealant is usually a shea butter mix but this time around i will add mango butter to the mix and see how i like it , i plan on trying out shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie as a styler and the kinky curly clustard as a gel and to start diluting my black soap before i wash my hair nothing else comes to mind

@Queensheba most curlies will rotate in the lighter products for spring and summer and put away the heavy ones.

I'm trying to revisit wash-n-go's again, and I'll be adding more glycerin to the mix, and some CFC Gold.

Re: Spring is in the Air!
To keep myself from going into MASSIVE project junkie mode, I'm thinking about mixing my shea moisture in with my mix of oils (that I made today and smells DELICIOUS ) for when I attempt to style my hair and when I do wash n gos, along with sticking with my usual mix of my leave-in spritz, my oils spritz, and my spray bottle of water. The only thing I'll stop using is my shea butter/evoo/vanilla essential oil mix (I've already stopped using it...). I'm thinking about adding my oils mix to my leave-in conditioner spritz, along with maybe adding aloe vera gel and/or vegetable glycerin. Any ideas on that?

Re: Spring is in the Air!
I'll probably start back adding vegetable glycerin and aloe vera gel to my spray bottle. I'm not sure if I want to give up my shea butter+vatika oil+vitamin oil mixture. My twists come out so moist with it. I'll up my coconut oil usuage - I heart that stuff!!!!
Re: Spring is in the Air!
I'll pull out my humectants... honey, aloe vera juice, aloe vera gel, veggie glycerine...all for my wash n go days

I don't really plan to do anything different. I'm still in the WnG stage.

I'll be going back and forth using Oyin's Honey Hemp conditioner and Yes to cucumbers conditioner as a leave in, and my shea mixture only on the ends.

Re: Spring is in the Air!
I'm going to incorporate wash-n-gos into my regimen. Before this week, I never liked the way they looked. But I loaded my hair up with enough conditioner and gel to weigh it down, and it's working for the first time EVER! I'm big on swimming when it's warm out, so this will be my go-to style for the spring/summer. Texas is hot, y'all.
Re: Spring is in the Air!
I'm trying my best to keep my pjism under control so I told myself that I wasn't going to try any new products until I finish using the ones I have. I'm about to run out of my morrocon oil spray so when that's done I plan on trying shea moisture oil spray. As far as styles I'm looking forward to wearing my hair out and doing away with protective styles. I plan on trying a bantu knot out next month, and most of the spring I'll probably do a lot of twist outs and braid outs.

Re: Spring is in the Air!
well i did a w&g last week just cause i wanted to switch it up from my usual twistout (which was my winter routine) but i have to say i'd rather keep wearing twistouts only because i have major shrinkage with a w&g.

Re: Spring is in the Air!
Shortnsassie, I was looking at your pics and you have done very well with your hair. Looks like you have retained all your growth. That is fantastic!
No real product changes for me. Sticking with my tried and trues

Re: Spring is in the Air!
This will be my first spring/summer with natural hair so not so sure about my routine just yet for the spring/summer. I will probably do more wash and go's. I have been doing twist outs for the latter part of the winter. ( I had to learn a lot about protective styling).

It is officially spring in Dallas (we'll be in the 80s all week ) I have put my Qhemet AOHC away and I'm now using Oyin Hair Dew as a moisturizer. I've also increased my cowashing.

Re: Spring is in the Air!
The weather in NYC is still a bit crazy! It was nice for a couple of days but we're getting snow this week! When it was nice I made sure to DC twice a week because I've been wearing my hair loose. But now I think I'm going to do a protective style like braids or twists until the nyc gets it together lol
Re: Spring is in the Air!
This is my first year actually taking care of my hair, so I have no idea. Just when I've mastered my winter routine, the season done changed up on me I'm looking forward to reading some more great ideas.....
