Preparing to take my hair down

Post by JaliseH on 14th March 2011, 7:34 pm

I'm taking my kinky twists down tuesday. Here is the plan of action.
Take down the twists in sections. After taking down a section I will apply hh he, twist and put in a clip.
After my while head is taken down I wil rinse it out and shampoo with oyin grand poo bar
Next I will deep condition with silk elements olive oil deep conditioner. I will add honey and olive oil to it.
After about an how I wil rinse that out and apply cantu shea butter leave in and my castor oil/almond oil mix.
I'm not exactly sure how I plan to style it yet.

So am I leaving something out? Is the shampooing necessary? Do you girls have any other tips? When I took my micros down I just washed my hair and then I spent two hours detangling so I am trying to do everything right this time.

When do plan to detangle? I recommend detangling with your fingers as much as possible before shampooing. If not, your shed hair may start matting once the water hits it. Other then that, I think your plan sounds great.

I'm going to detangle when the hh he while I am taking my hair down. I was going to use a wide tooth comb but I should probably use my fingers first.
