Flat hair... low manipulation..retwisting fine hair
Hello ladies,
I have really been working on my styling techniques now that my hair is starting to grow. I have gotten my flat twists outs as my staple style. However, I have one huge problem. The hair on the back of my head does NOTHING!! When I twist it and go to bed, that part ends up a flat, no definition mess. The twist is just pasted to my head! ( Think poo!) Yes, I do sleep with a satin bonnet. The rest of my hair comes out great and I love it!! Lots of curls and it's so soft. My goal is to find at least one low manipulation style that I don't really have to do every day. But I can't keep the twists in due to that one area. Thus I don't have a low manipulation style. I think part of the problem is I have fine hair but I'm still working on that. Anyone else have this problem? Any help would be great. Thanks and God Bless!
Products I use for flat twist outs:
KCKT leave in
Coconut oil
Jane Carter Wrap and Roll foam

Re: Flat hair... low manipulation..retwisting fine hair
Fine hair is a whole other beast to deal with when it comes to natural hair!! The two things that I can suggest is to (1) Use a product with more hold. I use Darcy's Madagascar Styling Creme..it gives hold but doesn't weigh it down like shea butter. (2) Break up the flat twists..don't just do one flat twist all the way back. In other words, flat twist to the middle of your head and stop. And then do another flat twist from the middle all the way down. Hope this makes sense.

How about just doing normal, loose twists at the back?
