Workout Music Empty Workout Music

Post by NikG20 8th December 2009, 9:19 pm

I have to have music when I work out. I find myself listening to the same songs over and over though, which can get boring.

So what do you work out to? What are your top 5-10 songs?

Thanks! Smile

Workout Music Empty Re: Workout Music

Post by natural83 9th December 2009, 3:40 am

Ooh this is a great topic [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ! Im BIG on music while Im working out...it keeps me pumped and motivated! I try to make playlists specific to my workouts! Like if Im running outside and depending on how many miles im doing, I'll usually create a playlist that will start me off smooth, then towards the middle I'll add up tempo stuff, then towards the end it has to be a song that's super krunk to get me finished! But any other old time when Im just working out, I put the ipod on shuffle and just let it play! Here are a few songs that almost always stay in rotation:

1.) Get Me Bodied- Beyonce
2.) Show Me What You Got- Jay-Z
3.) Working Day & Night- Michael Jackson
4.) Stronger- Kanye West
5.) Swing Ya Rag- T.I. feat. Swizz Beatz
6.) Can You Feel It- Michael Jackson
7.) I Wanna Dance With Somebody- Whitney Houston
8.) Roc Boys- Jay-Z feat. Kanye West
9.) Luchini/This is It- Camp Lo
10.) Baby- Pharrell feat. Nelly

I can work out to anything Michael Jackson...he has the best workout songs! Gosh! LOL! Also I like to take it back ol school with Earth, Wind, & Fire too! That definitely gets ya girl going! I work out to a variety of music though! I may come back next week and have a whole new list of songs! LOL! But currently, the above songs are in heavy rotation!

@perkynapp Hahahahaha! I looove Earth, Wind, & Fire! You can never be too young for them! I got hooked on their music while I was in college! I was on the dance team for 3 years in college at an HBCU school, so we performed at halftime with the band at football games and they played a lot of Earth, Wind, & Fire! That's how I mainly got hooked! I've seen them at Essence Festival before and they are just awesome! So yeah, the youngsters like me like to groove to them too! LOL!

soca podcasts!! they go on for like an hour to 3 hours. if soca can't get you through your workouts, then there is no other type of music that can.

@natural83 and @wild_honey I like the way you girls think..you know a workout isn't a workout unless it's got Michael in it! I would blast his BAD cd all day everyday during my biking workouts in the summer!

My playlist right now would most likely consist of:

1. Automatic - Pointer Sisters
2. Wanna Be Startin' Somethin - Michael Jackson
3. All Time Low- Shameless
4. Call Me - Go West
5. Danger Radio - Kiss N' Tell
6. Another Part of Me - Michael Jackson
7. September - Earth Wind & Fire (you know I had to have them too!)
8. Million Dollar Bill - Whitney Houston
9. Get Up - Mary Mary
10. Shake It - Metro

That's all I can think of right now..usually just put my ipod on shuffle and whatever fast beat comes on I just run with it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

When I run....uhm, I mean Power walk (I hate running) I listen to De La Soul - Are you in? Nike+ Original Run. Got it on iTunes it's a 45 minute joint (literally one music file), that has amazing transitions from warm up, intense music/lyrics and then cool down music. If you were ever a De La Soul fan it will not disappoint. You know it's good when you're pushing yourself through the faster paced songs and no one is looking:)

Once my soca is on, the trini in me comes out and I get all crazy and hyper lol. I love my soca podcasts.

I also do trance podcasts, helps me catch up on new trance music as well as keeps me hyped throughout the exercise.

Wow am loving the music playlists on here. I'm not usually a dance/electro fan, but I find that Basement Jaxx and Jamiroquai get me in the mood all the time. So I work out to my Best of both albums as the high energy beats keep me going!

But I could be tempted to throw in a bit of EWF (love them!!!!!!!!!)
