Lint in the fro Empty Lint in the fro

Post by *CurlyNikki* 5th November 2009, 1:53 am

Ever find random ish in your curls? I do and am left wondering why no one told me! Pisses me off.
Some of the things I've found:
-pearl earring-- I was freaking out cause I thought I lost it outside somewhere. To make matters worse, it's one of the pair from my wedding. Yeah, so I found it a few hours later tangled in my hair.
-toothpaste-- don't ask
-Shea butter clumps
-bits 'o leaves and other outdoor gunk on windy days
-fluff/dust/lint

what about you?

Post by hayylee 5th November 2009, 3:37 am

I find lint in my hair ALL the time, one of my biggest fears is finding a bug in my hair. There are a lot of trees on campus and I try my hardest to dodge them when walking around. The last thing I want is to be sitting in class playin in my hair and come across an insect...OMG, I'd probably lose it!! Shocked

LOL! I'm terrified of bugs too...If I found one in my hair, I"d definitely lose it! Once, while walking briskly outside (I don't jog, lol), a bug flew into my eye! I freaked, and rubbed my eye for what seemed like 15 minutes. 5 or so hours later, while in the kitchen, my eye started watering and feeling wierd. I started rubbing it again, and nearly lost my lunch when out came half of the bug! It was hiding under my lower lid. UGH!

That's why I don't venture into the great outdoors often...I'm prone to stuff like that.

@Nikki, Wow....I am terrified of bugs so I feel you. Girl I probably would of closed up in the house somewhere until Winter...lol. To have a bug chillin in your eye or any part of you body for hours is beyond creepy. Man I just think about the summer time when all those little bugs like nats are flying around. I would be afraid to have my hair down....lol. Ok Nikki, wears shades next time girly.....

Nikki my eyes started watering after I read that. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I have been TERRIFIED of bugs since I was a little girl. I usually leave our porch light off because I hate when you come in the house and a moth or some other insect follows you in. Anway lol to answer your question, YES I've found lint, crumbs from lunch, pieces of paper, etc in my fro. I'm weary of the whole bug in fro too so I dodge trees as well.

I find leaves, lint, and my husband even pulled a bug out one time. He thought it was hilarious and starting acting like those monkeys that pull bugs off each other and each them. That man is crazy.

I used to wonder (back back in the day) if I could sneak something into the club in my hair, I think it would have worked, LOL.

Haha. That has actually happened to me... and not only bugs my eyes are prone to specs of dirt and stuff too. I dont know how bad it is in NC but in GA we have gnats that fly in herds... I remember riding my bike threw the neighborhood (Back when I used to ride bikes for fun) and flying smack dab into a ball of gnats! My hands flew off the handle bars to my face... I was swating like a crazy woman. Thank goodness I didnt run into anything. Haha. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Actually CurlyNikki, your curls saved the day with your pearl earrings!! And I have had bugs fly in my eyes and get caught under my lids several times. I agree. It's pretty gross.

Yea I get the random lint things too. I wish my curls had been big enough to save the pearl earring I lost. (sigh). But more than bugs, what I'm really terrified of is bird droppings. I was leaving my apartment on my way to work one day and one dropped a deuce right on my hand!!! It was on the back of my hand but I freaked out, started screaming and waving and shaking my hand all over the place trying to get that stuff off. Then I used like half a mini bottle of hand sanitizer. After I calmed myself down I told myself I was just happy that it hadn't landed on my head, although they say that's supposed to bring you good luck...I'm not buying it...

Been there done that and Freaked OUT! I was getting the car with one of my friends. We were shopping for hair products and a salesperson pissed me off because of somethng they put in my hair. So as I was complaining to her I said" that stuff made my hair crunchy" while feeling my hair and a bug fell out of my fro and on to the floor. We screamed so loud! Florida and bugs go hand in hand. I hate going outside.

sidebar: I have my DH check my hair all the time for random things.

Ugggh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww! OMG!!!!! I so do NOT like bugs! It can be a freaking gnat and I will freak! Why? Bc they are little and you cant see them, they can get in your hair, or even crawl in your ears! I am from GA, and the bugs there can be big and sickening!

About a month ago, I was working on an Anatomy paper and I felt something fall out of my head, I freaked out! But it was just a pebble...I still didnt like it bc, I thought i may find something else in my hair that moves! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I have a horrible phobia of bugs, I am constantly sticking my hands in my hair, feeling my scalp just to make sure I dont have a spider in my head. I am currently living in Germany, and there a lot of spiders here, and they like to crawl on the ceiling (usually outdoors)...small ones too! So, I will keep my bonnet on all day, if i am in the house...or keep my hoodie on my head when I am outside...

Nikki, next time you go outside, maybe you should wear sunglasses! Ewww! I would have a heart attack if that happened to me! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

HAHAHA you guys are hilarious.

A spider did crawl out of my hair once. It was a while ago and I had gone 4+ months without a perm (those were my perming days Sad ) and I was about to pull up my hair into a messy bun when I thought I felt something crawling on my scalp so I scratched around a little bit and didn't feel anything else. I was about to finish getting dressed and was looking at my feet when I saw something crawling slowly from my hair. It was a spider!!!!!!!!!! affraid
It looked like it was floating because I couldn't see it's web. I FREAKED OUT!! lmbo.

I hate bugs so much and that just confirmed my fears.

I have the grossest story of all....I would be embarrassed to tell it but I am a clean freak so this is no result of my own, I was always visiting friends.

Keep in mind that I never had a relaxer...so in high school my hair was THICK and I had a lot of it. However, I want to be like everyone else and wear a weave ponytail so my BFF at the time hooked me up with one. I had it in for about 3 days when it started itching really bad. I had a rattail comb going to town on my scalp but it didn't help. I had to take the weave down immediately and inside my ponytail was

A ROACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I still get chills.
